Description
Job Summary:
Processes commercial loan file from opening through closing. Creates, assembles and reviews for completeness the documentation necessary to be included in file for commercial loans. Provide quality customer service according to “Customer Pledge” for loan servicing.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial and/or consumer loan processing within a financial
institution.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial and consumer lending operations, documentation, and loan
processing procedures.
• Strong understanding of lending regulations, compliance requirements, and bank policies.
• Experience reviewing corporate documents and determining proper ownership structures and loan titling.
• Ability to manage multiple loan files and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in document preparation and review.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, lenders, attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and other third parties.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with training and mentoring other loan processors
Preferred:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Experience processing both commercial and consumer loans from application through post-closing.
• Knowledge of loan servicing functions, including payments, payoffs, advances, and automatic debit maintenance.
• Familiarity with lien perfection requirements, UCC filings, collateral documentation, and title work.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and loan origination/core banking systems.
• Experience maintaining pipeline tracking, transaction logs, and electronic loan files.
• Exceptional organizational, customer service, and time management skills.
Primary Duties
Processing:
• Process commercial loans from application to post closing – including:
o Ordering appraisals, title work, credit reports, flood determinations
o Document Certificate of Good Standing status
o Review corporate documents, evaluate correct ownership/titling
o Assist Loan Officer with acquiring documentation to meet policies and guidelines
o Maintain organized pipeline tracking document
o Provide loan funding, process closing documents, necessary lien perfection filing
o Maintain knowledge of commercial regulatory requirements
o Assist in clearing technical exceptions
• Communicate effectively and professionally with third parties
• Complete Pre-Closing reviews
• Update transaction logs as stated in job aids – Loan Disbursement, Escrow, Cashier’s Check
• Prepare Adverse Action Statements
Type Consumer Loans:
• Collaborate with Lender and Borrower to obtain necessary requirements to prepare consumer loan
documents according to Loan Policy and Guidelines
• Disburse loan funds, ensure proper lien perfection documentation is completed and notify insurance
agent upon completion of loan documents
• Provide completed loan documents for booking as outlined in department process
Training:
• Assist in Training and Development of Loan Processors.
o Able to accurately answer questions for other employees.
o Assist in maintaining up to date training material/documents.
Servicing:
• Promptly reply to requests to post payments, advances, payoffs, auto-debits or general customer questions
• Assist customers with and retrieve online loan application submissions
• Manage participation and syndicated loan servicing activities, serving as the primary point of contact for participating financial institutions and ensuring compliance with loan agreements, payment distributions, reporting requirements, and ongoing portfolio administration.
Other:
• Performs other tasks requested by supervisor as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
