Description
We are looking for a driven Loan Officer to join our growing team. The individual in this role would be responsible for analyzing our current and potential relationships to identify opportunities to achieve growth and profitability. We are seeking a candidate who is able to identify new market opportunities and take action to realize those opportunities. 

The Loan Officer will build and maintain customer relationships which develop a quality loan portfolio for the bank.  Loans typically will be 1 to 4 family residential real estate however may also include consumer and commercial loans as well.

As a Loan Officer it is expected that sound banking practices are followed and that all regulations governing banking functions are strictly observed.  The individual in this role is expected to deliver customer service as outlined in our “customer pledge” and “customer service standards”.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains an ongoing sound program of business development to meet objectives/goals.
  • Interviewing and evaluating applicants for loans and underwriting those requests.  Gather background information and analyze loan applicants’ credit history and approve or deny loan applications based on analysis and operate within credit authority. 
  • Manage a portfolio of existing relationships as well as developing new business by calling on current customers and prospective customers using referrals or additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of all bank products and services.
  • Prepares loan presentations for consideration by Loan Committee on loans outside of lending authority.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
  • Represents the bank and provides leadership in key local community activities including business, charitable, civic, and social organizations to maintain the bank’s image as that of a responsible corporate citizen.
  • Analyze current customer base and potential customers to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, outside business contacts, and company stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required:   
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
  • At least five (5) years of lending experience
  • An understanding of real estate, consumer, and commercial lending
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great leadership qualities
  • Strong decision making abilities 
  • Demonstrated business development and sales skills 
  • High degree of personal integrity
